Just in case you missed it... Luke Haines' musings on Britpop *cough* are available NOW in all good bookstores nationwide or via your webshop of choice (Amazon, Play etc...). An interview with Mr Haines conducted by reknowned website The Quietus can be found here.

Oh and there's the small matter of this event (shamelessly cut and pasted from the official site). "(On the 27th January i.e. next Tuesday) Luke Haines will be reading extracts from his book (at the Roundhouse, London). He will then have a chat with Andrew Mueller. This will be followed by a Q and A session. Start working on your questions now".

He'll also be playing a short acoustic set. Tickets are around the £6 mark and can be ordered via this link.

Black Box Recorder dust off the evening dress and dapper suits for two nights at the Luminaire in London next month (February). Both dates (18th and 24th) have sold out. Support comes from Madam.

bad vibes

I will be at the Haines thing and the first BBR gig.

The Quietus article is good but typically po-faced and gets at least 3 basic facts wrong. I'm not usually a pedant but meh.

The Observer review linked to at the bottom of the Quietus is very funny:

is there any substance behind the bile? asks Louise Wener

I was a slowcoach so only going to the 2nd BBR. Didn't know Madam were still going, my missus was in them about 5 years ago. They should have got this Robert Calvert character to support.
